BUDGET BABE: for JULY

I actually got a chance to recover one of my blogs for the month of July and YES I know you guys will be telling me that what the hell it's already SEPTEMBER and few days before OCTOBER but anyway better to post this than never-just kidding I just want to share with you guys this because you will be seeing more of these for the next months.

BUDGET BABE: beauty finds under PHP 125.00

Today, I will share to you guys cosmetics and other things I bought for the month of July, where I bought it, why I bought it and some advices in buying these products. I decided for the title BUDGET BABE because these products cost under PHP 125.00 and can still be considered affordable for a typical Pinay.

Item #1: FASHION 21 cosmetics discounted package

It includes a Foundation refill in beige, single blush on number 9 and single eye shadow in glitter green

Where: Bought this in Gateway Watsons
Price: PHP 125.00

Why I bought it?
I ran out of blush on and I am looking for a color that is not too red and not to light, something that will give me a healthy glow and look very natural. The color is a combination somewhat pinkish and peachy; this is a discounted package, the sales lady even told me that the regular price of a single blush on is PHP 125.00 and a very great deal to buy because it comes with a foundation refill in beige that suit my complexion and a single eye shadow in color green.

This is the first time I bought FASHION 21 Cosmetics so I thought of giving it a try so here’s a picture of me using these products.

Shirt from ZARA

I just applied concealer to hide dark under eyes and blemishes and applied the foundation to set the concealer. Next, I applied the blush on lightly because I don’t want so much redness. In most cases we tend to over apply our blush on so always make sure to apply lightly and have a good lighting and of course check how you look once you’re out. I always make sure to smile while applying because it is easier for me this way. Lastly, the eye shadow, I tend to do my eye makeup last because I spend a lot of time in blending and putting my eye liner.  I found the eye shadow too light so I applied it twice and use lip balm for my lips.

I also tried this look by putting eye liner for more definition and make my eyes bigger, sometimes makes my eyes dramatic and girly. I find liquid eye liners easier to use than pencils because it don’t melt easily and you don’t need to re apply it again and again like pencils.

I can say the foundation is good even it appears lighter when applied so always keep the application in moderation and blend and spread to your face and neck the only thing I don''t like is that it comes in a refill form so it doesn't have sponge I asked the sales lady if there are available compact foundation so I can use the refill but it is out of stock. The blush on is fine easy to blend and light on the skin and for the eye shadow I can say this can best suit those who prefer really colorful eye shadows. I can I prefer to use this look for day time.

Item #2: Nichido Make up collection Matted

It includes 8 eye shadows and 2 blush on colors with a small two way applicator and a free liquid eyeliner

Where I bought it: Watsons in SM Taytay
Price: PHP 100.00

Why I bought it?

This is the second time I bought this product; the first time was last April before my graduation pictorial and graduation. I used it to practice how to apply makeup on myself and what colors will best suit me because I don’t want to spend on makeup artist as much as possible if I can do it on my own ha-ha see I am truly a Budget BabeJ. Anyway, I find the eye shadow colors basic and simple to combine and blend and will suit most complexions of us Pinays, the 2 blush on colors are red and something like a combination of red and brown in deep shade, the colors can be too strong if over applied and the applicator was too small for a regular size of a blush brush. Lastly, I like the liquid eye liner because I have chinita eyes so one way to make it look bigger and give definition would be lining them and I find the size fair because eye liners’ life span would be around 3 months so 4ml will be ideal size to use in those months. I still have my 1st bought matted eye shadows and still using it but tossed the eye liner and the reason I bought another was mainly because of the eye liner.

Here is my picture the first one: me with purple eye shadows and playing around with false eyelashes and the next picture I took this a day after my graduation using the brown eye shadow for a natural look.

I used to have brown hair so I used the brown eye shadow (right most in the palette)to fill my brows, for my eyes I applied first the peachy color as base then applied the lighter shade of purple to the inner corner of my eye lids and blend with the darker purple shade and intensify at the outside corner of my eyelids . Lastly, I used the liquid eye liner to define and make me look that I have thick lashes and bigger eyes.

I saw a lot of girls holding this matted collection for touched ups and as mirror on my graduation this May 2012.

For the this picture I still use the brown eye shadow for my brows and use the peach color for my lids and then put eye liner.

I can say these products are best for starters, those who are still practicing to put makeup themselves because the colors are very basic and easy to blend and the price is cheaper and affordable. These products are also good because by making them available in the market it can help women to refrain from buying cosmetics along side of the roads or in “tiangges” with unknown brands that can contain harmful elements or substances.

MY ADVICE: Be wise, whenever you will buy a discounted or promo package always check for the manufacturing date and the date of expiration because these promo packages include products that should have been sold months ago and don’t buy just because it is sale always keep in mind that you will buy these products because you will use it and you are sure that the colors will compliment your complexion.
